Flying BranchFlying Branch has a very relaxed atmosphere. There are quite a few people hanging out in the common room. As Brooke makes her way into the room, a young woman approaches her. "Greetings. You must be here to join the Flying Branch, yes? I'm Amanda, Branch Head." Brooke offered her hand to the Flying branch leader. "So what-all's this branch about? Miz Genevieve talked about the branches a bit, but she never got around to saying what they're for." |

"Oh, don't misunderstand. The lessons are completely free. The only time you'd have to pay is if you wanted to rent a flier for the day for personal reasons." She thinks a moment, then adds. "No, not much else needing to be known. I mean, there's the mission board, but you can find those anywhere. We rarely have unique missions up here. Most of our time is devoted to caring for and training the Bird Pokemon."

Amanda directs you to the mission board. Right now it's kinda sparse, with mostly generic missions like "run X errand for Y person" and the like. Of note is the mission ranking system. They are ranked A-F, with F being the easiest or simplest missions (and most akin to errands) and A being the most difficult (but offering the greatest reward for completion).

The next morning, Brooke headed out north of the city a little ways to start training. The Guild probably had space to do that without leaving Saffron, but she liked the outdoors.
"I'm gonna let the new guy out now, Sharp. Now,' I want you to play nice; I know you're probably a little sore over yesterday, but remember you're on the same team now, we all gotta have each other's backs. You're bigger n' older than him, so I'm gonna need your help to whip 'im into proper shape, you hear? We both know you'd kick his ass in a straight fight, you got nothin' to prove." The little Spearow fluffed up self-importantly, nodding. She gave his head a ruffle. "Good bird. Let's get started."
(applying Inspired Training, plus training XP)
After being briefly trounced by a local hiker and his Geodude, she decided to head into the long grass to see if she couldn't turn up some wild Pokemon. Normally she liked to avoid that, but now that she had Pokeballs...

Well, Brooke thinks as she wraps up the morning's training session, that could've gone a lot better. Sharp, upon being released and woken up, is huffy at having missed the end of the fight with the witch and her ghosts; last he remembers, he was winning. (It's probably for the better that he doesn't know what actually happened.) Naturally, he takes out this frustration on his sparring partners. Snap holds her own with walls of bubbles, seemingly oblivious to the Spearow's temper, but her others don't fare so well: Quiver retreats into a terrified puddle of goo rather than fight, Leaf just looks incredulous and refuses to face the Flying-type at all (it would be a bit of a farce, she's got to admit, and the as-yet unnamed Stunfisk... well, at first it looks like he's going to mimic Quiver's performance, but after cowering for a minute he starts spraying electricity right and left. Which infuriates Sharp all the more, especially after a lucky hit locks up his wings. On the bright side, it's taken her mind off Leon's plight... and Yue's mysterious personality transplant... and their mysterious near-death experience last night. So that's something. Still, it's a somber-looking Brooke that enters the Guild, looking for someone willing to talk about trading. "He's a fine Pokemon," she'll tell them, tone businesslike, "but I'm a straight shooter, myself. Do best with simple Pokemon. I just don't know what do do with a fish that shoots lightning."Aiming to trade Stunfisk for a Sentret:

Brooke is actually given an unexpected lesson in the 'beauty' of Stunfisk by an Electric Branch member. They will gladly trade Sentret for Stunfisk, as Brooke has made it clear she can't fully appreciate its unique skills.
Sentret is Female, Cuddly, with the Run Away Ability. It is the same level as Stunfisk.

Brooke nods along to the lecture, which reminds her vaguely of Eric. Of course, he was never that condescending, but maybe if he thought she'd impugned his Spinda . When she can get a word in edgewise, she says, "My friend caught one too, and his is doin' great. I know it's a fine Pokemon. Just ain't for me, is all."Her new Sentret promptly scurries up her arm and curls up on her shoulder, fluffy tail wrapped around her neck as an anchor. She smiles a little in spite of herself, and goes off to see if anyone's willing to take in a little puddle of slime nobody in the Guild can put a name to. A collector, maybe? She doesn't like fighting much. And now, going to see about trading Goomy for a Lickitung:

Nobody stops Brooke from entering the Dark Branch, nor even from entering the Male Dorms within it. Not knowing which is Leon's room though, it takes Brooke some time to search all of them for signs of life. As she's going room to room, a voice calls out to her.
"Hi hi! What are you looking for, Ms. Grumpy?"
A girl Brooke doesn't recognize is now standing in front of her, though she is certain nobody was there only moments ago. The hall is wide enough that she could edge around past this person if she had a mind to.
